Getting rid of cancer is in the hands of women!

Manisa Private Grandmedical Hospital carries out a social responsibility project on the subject during October, which is considered Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In this context, hospital staff and patients were informed about self-examination methods against the risk of breast cancer. Additionally, all employees wore pink ribbons for awareness.

Breast cancer, the most common type of cancer in women, is often not fatal if diagnosed early. During October, which is considered Breast Cancer Awareness Month, many events are held under the coordination of the Ministry of Health. Manisa Private Grandmedical Hospital is also carrying out a series of studies on this subject within the framework of social responsibility projects. The hospital management, which provided information and distributed brochures about breast cancer throughout the month, wore a pink ribbon, a symbol of awareness, to all employees and patients in the hospital the day before. In the study coordinated by Nursing Services Manager Ayşe Tatar, early diagnosis methods and the importance of early diagnosis were explained.
SELF-EXAMINATION IS VERY IMPORTANT
Hospital Chief Physician and General Surgery Specialist Op. Dr. Mümtaz Kahya also emphasized that self-examination for breast cancer is very important. Stating that with this examination, it is possible to detect changes in the breasts that may be signs of cancer, such as lumps, swelling, and thickening, Kahya said, "Thanks to the fact that breast cancer can be diagnosed in the early stages, the chance of surviving the disease is much higher. Women can detect potentially dangerous changes early with regular breast examinations that they can perform on their own." "It may make a difference in time," he said.
