The first tissue transplantation was carried out in Manisa Private Grandmedical Hospital, which has become one of Turkey's most important private health institutions. Two different parts of a cornea taken from Celal Bayar University Eye Bank were used in different transplants and two different patients were cured. Performing the operation, Op. Dr. İlker Biçer said that there have been revolutionary developments in corneal transplantation method in recent years and that these methods are used in surgeries.

The Cornea Transplantation Center of Manisa Private Grandmedical Hospital, which has made significant investments in the field of health, has started its work. In the center where the first tissue transplantation was performed in the field of eye diseases, one cornea was used for two different patients and tissue savings were achieved. Performing the operation, Op. Dr. İlker Biçer stated that they went beyond the classical corneal transplant and made maximum use of a tissue and said, "This situation provides significant advantages in facilitating the operation process and perfecting the results by making use of new techniques. We successfully performed this operation for the first time in a private health institution in Manisa."

Stating that these new methods are exciting developments for ophthalmologists and patients in Turkey, where tissue and organ donation is not sufficient, Biçer said, "We are happy to be able to cure the vision problems of two of our patients with only one eye of a corneal donor with these new techniques.
