Earthquake and fire drill at Grandmedical

Manisa Private Grandmedical Hospital carried out earthquake and fire drills as part of the preparatory work it carried out before possible disasters. In the exercise, in which the doctors and dozens of employees at the hospital participated, the work to be carried out during both earthquake and fire was revived, and emergency aid was given to the injured under the rubble and the citizens exposed to the smoke.
Hospitals, which take on very important tasks after various disasters, need to be able to provide the best service in a calm and organized manner in cases such as earthquakes or fires. Manisa Grandmedical Hospital, carrying out its preparations within this framework, conducted an exercise on the assumption that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 was experienced in the region. Hospital Disaster and Emergency Plan (HAP) President and Infectious Diseases Specialist Dr. Hospital Manager Mehmet Başaran, Nursing Services Manager Gift Gördes and many health workers took part in the exercise led by Mustafa Gülenç.
SAHRA HOSPITAL ESTABLISHED IN THE GARDEN
In the exercise, which started with the sound of the siren, the team first gathered in the emergency management room. The Head of Disaster and Emergency Management, who received information about the condition of the building by radio from the personnel working in various parts of the hospital building, was informed about the location and severity of the earthquake, the number of injured people who could come to the hospital and the emergency preparations to be made. Then, the work continued in the field hospital, which was created in the hospital garden.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO THOSE AFFECTED BY FIRE
In the fire drill, citizens who were exposed to heavy smoke inside the building were rescued. The patients and staff affected by the fire were brought to the intervention area in the garden with the help of health workers. The hospital workers, who were given the appearance of being injured with make-up, were given an emergency response by the paramedics. Some citizens in the hospital garden watched the exercises, which did not look like the truth, with interest. Hospital Chief Op. Dr. Mümtaz Kahya thanked all the employees for the successful exercises
