For the health of mother and baby, normal birth should be preferred

Dr. Belgin Koçak Yurdakul said that they recommend normal birth to be preferred for the health of mother and baby, except for special cases. Op. Dr. Yurdakul stated that in normal births, the emotional bond between mother and baby is established in a shorter time and many health risks are eliminated.

The rapid increase in caesarean section rates in Turkey has various negative effects on the health of mothers and babies, and also causes the fertility rate to decrease. While the Ministry of Health is running various campaigns to encourage normal birth, obstetricians state that expectant mothers should prefer normal birth except in special cases.
